Another sunny, warm, calm and quiet cruise from Port Canaveral to Fort Pierce inlet on the outside. We anchored in a lovely spot away from the busy ICW channel, but still close enough to get around on the dinghy. We finally freed the dinghy from its perch on top of the boat, pumped it up and voila! It even started without too much prodding. We expect to see our friends Jamie and Rick who own a Selene and have a condo in Ft. Pierce . The weather is fine, and we think we might hang out here for a few days!
Yesterday, Monday, was spent catching up on emails and generally hanging out. We are perfecting our “hanging out” technique! Chris ran our water maker, and all seemed to go well. We contacted our friends Jamie and Rick, who live here, and dinghied over to their house to see their 47 ft Selene. Their house is a short dinghy ride away from our anchorage; in fact, you could see our boat from their front lawn. We checked out their boat, which is very similar to ours. They are getting a lot of work done on their boat, so they probably won’t be ready to make the trip across to the Bahamas for the rendezvous…too bad! They came over to our boat later in the evening for a drink, and then we all took the dingy to another dock right inside the condos. We went to dinner at a local hotspot, and had some great local fish.
Today, (what day is it today???) we will spend doing some odd jobs on the boat. We will also spend some time planning out the next leg of our journey. We are supposed to get into the high 70’s and low 80’s over the next couple of days. We will try to get some pictures to post as well.
